Thoughts & Observation #5
Had an interesting conversation today. It got me thinking about how people tend to fall into two camps. The first type when they hit a flaw or a failure, their instinct is to ask “what can I fix?” They read, they practice, they take feedback without flinching because their standard is their own potential, not anyone else’s. Focusing solely on self growth. The second type projects outward. Instead of closing the gap between where they are and where they want to be, they widen the gap between themselves and others through comparison, subtle jabs, or outright tearing people down. It’s a shortcut. Making someone else look smaller creates the illusion of standing taller without any effort. I wish there was less of the latter, I usually respond with distance over escalation because it’s easier than proving a point to people who’ve already made up their mind about me.
