Thoughts #007
For some time now, I’ve had the same recurring dream: My bottom right fang is extremely loose, shifting when I press my tongue against it, threatening to fall out as I feel the gap widen between gum and tooth. I grind my teeth unconsciously in some strange motion that leaves my whole mouth feeling stiff and wrong. I wonder if it’s tied to an insecurity about my appearance, or something deeper I haven’t named yet. I find myself in a library, searching for one specific book, but instead I open one I never chose. Every page is a mirror, showing my reflection at a different stage of my life: younger, older, someone I recognize and someone I don’t. I interpret this as: Sometimes you set out looking for one thing and end up somewhere else entirely, never having asked for the detour, and all you can do is look back and see how it shaped you into who you are now. The result might satisfy you or leave you in a pool of regrets.
