Bumblebees are capable of learning surprisingly complex behaviours by watching other bees. In experiments, researchers have shown that bees can observe another bee solving a puzzle to access a sugary reward, then learn to solve it themselves.

Even more interestingly, these learned behaviours can spread through groups as other bees observe and copy successful individuals—showing a form of social learning in an animal with a brain smaller than a sesame seed.
