🖤-September Suic*de Prevention & Awareness Month
September is Suic*de Prevention and Awareness Month—a time to remind ourselves that behind every smile, every laugh, and every “I’m okay,” there may be someone fighting a battle we cannot see. - As someone whos dealt heavily with depression, and a lot of other struggles this month is SO very dire to me to bring awareness about - Please allow others to help. - This month is about more than awareness. It is about compassion, understanding, and reminding people that asking for help is okay. You do not have to wait until you have reached your lowest point to tell someone you are struggling. Your feelings deserve to be heard, and you deserve support. If life has started to feel unbearably heavy, please reach out to someone. Talk to a friend, family member, therapist, doctor, or another person you trust. You do not need to have the perfect words. Sometimes simply saying, “I’m not doing okay, and I need someone to be here with me,” is enough to begin. And if someone reaches out to you, listen. You do not have to have all the answers or know exactly what to say. Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is stay beside them, take their feelings seriously, and help them connect with additional support. Please remember that struggling does not make you a burden. Reaching out does not make you weak. There are people who want to listen, people who want to help, and resources created specifically for moments when carrying everything alone feels impossible. And if you are the person who needs that reminder today: Please reach out. Please tell someone. You matter, and you deserve the chance to be heard, supported, and helped through whatever you are carrying. September is a month of awareness, but kindness, listening, and checking in with one another should continue every month of the year. - Mochi cares about each one of you!
