Bingus and the Lost Treasure

Bingus lived in a quiet village surrounded by tall mountains. One morning, he discovered an old map hidden inside a dusty book.

The map showed a mysterious treasure buried somewhere beyond the mountains. Excited by the discovery, Bingus packed some food, grabbed his backpack, and began his adventure.

After hours of walking, he reached a dark cave marked with an X on the map. Inside, he found three doors.

The first door had a picture of fire. The second had a picture of water. The third had a picture of a banana.

Bingus thought carefully and chose the banana door because, in his words, “Nobody would put a banana on a dangerous door.”

He was right.

Behind the door was a huge underground room filled with gold, jewels, and ancient treasures. But sitting in the middle of the room was a sleeping dragon.

Bingus slowly took one small golden coin and started walking away.

The dragon opened one eye.

Bingus froze.

The dragon stared at him for a moment and said, “You can take the treasure. I hate gold anyway.”

Bingus looked at the enormous pile of treasure and asked, “Then why are you guarding it?”

The dragon shrugged. “I have nothing better to do.”

Bingus and the dragon became friends and spent the rest of the afternoon playing cards.

Bingus returned to the village with only one gold coin, but he had gained something much more valuable: a very strange new friend.

Moral: Sometimes the greatest treasures are the unexpected friendships you make along the way.
