Do you think it’s strange that everyone wants to be a part of something? My empathy pulls me into managing everyone’s feelings, I’m consumed by exhaustion from social gymnastics and friend group politics. And I get it. Humans are social creatures, they need others to function, to feel supported, to feel happiness, to feel loved. Maybe, just maybe I thought I could save people from drowning, pulling out one person at a time. Now I’m the one in water with sharks circling. Have we really regressed to a point where living behind a screen matters more than the real world? Truth is, it doesn’t matter how real you are, people will take advantage of that or cast you as the villain. It might be time I pack my bags.
