field notes #015
a little magic, a little horsepower, and a conversation that gave me something to think about. funny how much you can stumble upon when you let conversations wander.
yu-gi-oh!, spellcaster girls, and the witchcrafters. can we take a moment to appreciate how ridiculously cute they are? hehehe. always a pleasure discovering little details in things people enjoy.
then, a little trip into japanese car culture. the R32, 1989 JDM, drifting, nitrous, clutch kicks, and all the little things that come with it. there's something fascinating about hearing someone talk about a world they're passionate about.
i also had another conversation about inadequacy, self-perception, and learning to embrace the emotions we often try to avoid.
one thought they shared stuck with me:
"we can only love as deeply as the emotion we are most afraid to feel."
i also loved their idea of treating inadequacy as a compass rather than something to silence. perhaps some uncomfortable feelings are simply pointing us towards the parts of ourselves that still have room to grow :>
